WHAT  DOES GOD THINK OF YOU?

As you read through this teaching remember this is God through His word speaking to you personally.

Psalm 40:5 Many, O Lord my God, are thy wonderful works which thou hast done, and thy thoughts which are to us-ward: they cannot be reckoned up in order unto thee: if I would declare and speak of them, they are more than can be numbered.

Psalm 139:16-17  Thine eyes did see my substance, yet being unperfect; and in thy book all my members were written, which in continuance were fashioned, when as yet there was none of them.  How precious also are thy thoughts unto me, O God! how great is the sum of them!

We should think & talk like God:

Amos 3:3 Can two walk together, except they be agreed?

We need to agree with God's Word!

Colossians  3:1-2  So if you have been raised with Christ, seek the things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things.

Enjoy the life God gives you:

John 16:24 Until now you have asked nothing in my name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full.

1 Timothy 6:17 As for the rich in this present age, charge them not to be haughty, nor to set their hopes on the uncertainty of riches, but on God, who richly provides us with everything to enjoy.

How do we enjoy our lives in a fallen world?

Philippians 4:8 Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.

God says to renew your mind:

Romans 12:2  And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

Realize what is most important:

When the disciples came back to tell Jesus about what happened when He sent them out they were all excited because they had power over the enemy and people were healed at their hands.... But Jesus said...

Luke 10:20  Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven.

Don't let the devil steal your identity...

Who you are as a Christian:

Matthew 5:14 You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden.

Philippians 2:15 “Then you will shine among them like stars in the sky.”

Hebrews 3:1 “Therefore, holy brothers and sisters, who share in the heavenly calling, fix your thoughts on Jesus, whom we acknowledge as our apostle and high priest.”

1 Peter 2:9 “But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.”

Ephesians 2:10 “For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.”

We are God's child.

Galatians 3:26 for in Christ Jesus you are all sons of God, through faith.

We are Jesus' friend.

John 15:15 No longer do I call you servants, for the servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all that I have heard from my Father I have made known to you.

We are a whole new person with a whole new life.

2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.

We are a place where God's Spirit lives.

1 Corinthians 6:19 Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own,

We are God's Incredible work of art.

Ephesians 2:10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.

We are totally and completely forgiven.

1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

We are created In God's likeness.

Ephesians 4:24 and to put on the new self, created after the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness.

We are a citizen of Heaven.

Philippians 3:20  But our citizenship is in heaven, and from it we await a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ

We are God's messenger to the world.

Acts 1:8 But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”

We are greatly loved.

Romans 5:8 but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

Ephesians 1:4 According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:

1 John 4:16 So we have come to know and to believe the love that God has for us. God is love, and whoever abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him.

Finally... God disciplines His kids...

Proverbs 3:11-12 My son, do not despise the Lord's discipline or be weary of his reproof, for the Lord reproves him whom he loves, as a father the son in whom he delights.

Hebrews 12:8 If you are left without discipline, in which all have participated, then you are illegitimate children and not sons.

Revelation 3:19 Those whom I love, I reprove and discipline, so be zealous and repent.

So even in discipline we know God loves us!

We discipline our kids because we know it will make them better people, this is disciplined with love which is how God disciplines.

Everything God does is for our own good.

What the fallen world does to us is through selfish and unkind motives.

God delivers us from the pain the world brings to us...

He teaches us through love and knowledge.

Knowing God as the God of LOVE that He is, gives us the ability to see the difference.
