The Lord's Prayer
Based on Matthew 6:9-15
Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.
(Making God personal & Praising God)
Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.
(We seek to do God's will – Guide us Dear Father)
Give us this day our daily bread.
(We know God will meet our needs, and we thank Him)
And forgive us our sins, as we forgive those that sin against us
(Forgiveness is VERY IMPORTANT!!!)
(Matthew 6:14-15 For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you:
But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.)
(God does not) lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil:
(James 1:13 ~ 14 Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God:
for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempts he any man:
But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed.)
For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.
(This is stating you realize God is creator of everything and God is to be Glorified and will be forever!)
(KJV) For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities;
but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.
(ESV) For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses,
but one who in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet without sin.
